Awards & scholarships

From the Daisy Award and Emily McNelly Member of the Year Award to the Karl Lipinski Male Nursing Scholarship, GANS recognizes the students, chapters, and mentors shaping nursing in Georgia. Applications open each fall and awards are presented at the Annual GANS Convention in Atlanta, GA. Award applications will be open August 10 - September 30, 2026.

Financial Aid Resources for Georgia Nursing Students

Check out this one-page guide covering national nursing scholarships (Foundation of the NSNA, HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship & Loan Repayment, AACN, National Black Nurses Association, Tylenol Future Care, and the Johnson & Johnson scholarships database), Georgia & state-based resources (Georgia Nurses Foundation scholarships, Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce loan repayment, and the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation), plus quick tips and out-of-the-box ways to fund nursing school. Even smaller scholarships can help cover books, uniforms, exam fees, clinical supplies, transportation, and licensure costs.
